The father of Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba says he is delighted working for manager Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard has declared the Zimbabwe international has a big future at Villa after he underwent knee surgery last week.
"I have been talking to him regularly and I can feel he is strong mentally. He says he will come back stronger," Nakamba's father, Anthony, told The Sunday Mail.
"It's very unfortunate he has picked up this injury at a time when he was enjoying his game under new coach Gerrard.
"Everyone was happy with his form, as a family we were elated to see him start again for Villa, but such is the nature of football...injuries are common in this game," he said.
