Kota Kinabalu: Repairs are being done on the pothole-riddled Jalan Telupid-Sandakan, according to Gerakan Pertubuhan Bukan Kerajaan President Datuk Fadli Fathullah.

He announced this in a statement issued here on Tuesday after being informed of the repair work by the Public Works Department (PWD).

His statement came in response to instances of 10 vehicles left stranded at the roadside due to potholes along the stretch, which went viral on social media.

The incident drew widespread attention, with many people demanding that the road be repaired immediately.

“The Pan Borneo Highway contractor, who took over the concession from Lintasan Resources Sdn Bhd, is doing the work,” he said.

He stated that the contractor will resume work as soon as the weather permits, while also maintaining a close eye on the situation.

Three companies were previously tasked at ensuring road maintenance on this section.

In another development, Fadli said they learned about a portion near the Kudat Hospital that was in desperate need of repair via social media.

“I received proof that the road is not under the control of the PWD, but rather the Kudat Hospital,” he explained.
