Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu was full of praise for striker Gabriel Martinelli.

The young center forward netted the first goal of the game in a 2-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Martinelli ensured that Arsenal did not miss Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was not in the starting line-up for the game against the Hammers.

On playing alongside Martinelli, Tomiyasu told the club website: "Yes, I think he is a great player. "I made an assist for him against Newcastle, I thought it would be too long but he was fast and he had the technique to score.

"I think he is a great player."
