Brentford are chasing a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The 20 year-old Ukrainian is aware of the Bees' interest ahead of the January market.
"I am a direct and fair person, that's how I was raised. So to be honest, I would not have hesitated a second to ask the club to sell me if it had happened a year or a half ago. To get into the Premier League as a 20-year-old is obviously really cool," he said.
"But with Darijo Srna (sports director at Shakhtar) and Roberto De Zerbi (coach), everything has changed drastically.
"I would like to thank Brentford for making such a bid. It would be great to come to the Premier League as a 20-year-old, but the decision about my future lies with only one person - the president of this club. I have a long term contract and I am only thinking of Shakhtar now."
