Chelsea has rejected an offer from Huddersfield Town for Harry Vale.
The Championship side wanted to borrow the talented midfielder for the second half of the season.
The Athletic says Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to keep him around to fight for his place.
The German handed Vale his senior Blues debut in the League Cup victory over Brentford in December.
He has since handed the 18-year-old further cameo appearances against Tottenham and Chesterfield.
Vale could feature against League One side Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup this weekend.
