Yet, despite that lack of first-team action and the fact the ex-Blackburn man has less than 18 months left on his current contract, United are refusing to listen to offers under £15m.
Burnley are interested in the former England international but have no intention of matching United's demand - or the player's £100,000-a-week salary.
