Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara wants a £150,000-a-week deal from his next club after West Ham joined Newcastle in the fight to sign him.

The Toon are taking a keen interest in the Marseille star, who is free to talk as his deal runs out in the summer.

However, his massive demands are causing snags.

Both Newcastle and West Ham can get the 22-year-old on a pre-contract now and could even try to buy him this month, says The Sun.

But the size of the contract is making it an expensive swoop.

Eddie Howe's Magpies are keen but would not be sure to commit so much on Kamara at this stage, especially as their Premier League status is uncertain.

However, that is playing into the hands of the Hammers, who could yet sneak in and would also be willing to wait for Kamara to join in the summer when he is a free.
