Newcastle great Alan Shearer says victory at Leeds was deserved.
Shearer disagreed with a match report in which the game had been described as one-sided towards the home side.
"It was a huge game. I don't necessarily agree with the match report that I've just heard there about the most one-sided game ever," Shearer said on BBC Radio Five Live.
"What about the Wood chance, the Willock chance, Saint-Maximin should have had a penalty. First half maybe, never second half, they were well in the game Newcastle and defended really well.
"Leeds were desperately lacking a centre-forward, didn't really have a presence in the box particularly for the first half, but Newcastle had to dig deep for that and dig deep they did.
"I thought they deserved it in the end were the better team in the second half. They had to win that game, particularly with the result last night with Norwich winning."
