Everton U23 coach Jose Baxter admits they're delighted with the progress of Lewis Dobbin.

Dobbin scored for the U23s this week after spending time with the first team squad.

Baxter told the Liverpool Echo: "I said to him in the dressing room that came off his shoulder, but he said 'Give me a bit of credit'!

"I'll keep on him, I'll keep banging on at him until he keeps scoring more and more goals. I keep telling him all the time to just think about goals, that's our job as strikers.

"Like you see there, it wins your team the game.

"It wasn't just his goal though, I thought he was outstanding. His all-round game, holding the ball up is getting much better, buying fouls, being a threat, the timing of his runs were really good.

"In the second half he was unplayable at times."
