Body of missing boy found in Tambunan

TAMBUNAN: The body of a two-year-old boy, reported missing in a river in Kampung Sungai Zon Kumaraling on Sunday, was found Monday morning.

Keningau Fire and Rescue Department Chief Yuszaimi Hairrul Azwan Juatan said the body of Mohammad Syaril was found at 10.05am.

He said the Tambunan Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 6.53pm on Sunday about the incident and 14 personnel from the station led by Senior Operations Officer Desmond AK Micky @ Dominic and Tony Sipin along with machinery were deployed to the location about 5km away.

According to him, the boy was discovered missing by his mother at 6pm when she only found the victim’s slippers beside the river.

“The victim was found by the public within 3km of the location where he was reported missing,” he said.
