SANDAKAN: LDP Vice President-cum-Tanjung Papat Chairman, Robert Chong, praised Datuk Seri Bung Moktar for his bold statement to develop Sandakan within five years.
Chong said Bung together with ruling Sandakan YBs had shown initiative in rebuilding Sandakan and it was good news to the local community.
Presently, Sandakan is revitalising its tourism programmes and MPS has been doing its best in transforming some areas into attractions.
Chong also proposed that a platform should be created for Sandakan netizens to share their views, proposal or comments in working with MPS or Government agencies.
“We need long term planning and concrete strategies to ensure it will work out,” he said in a statement.
He cautioned that Sandakan needs to resolve the infrastructure problems, public facilities and utilities as investors will be looking into such things before coming in.
Chong also encouraged Sandakan Chinese Chamber of Commerce, NGOs, associations and developers to come into the picture.
