Aston Villa have officially confirmed the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
The Brazilian has joined on loan for the remainder of the season.
Villa confirmed they possess an option to buy once the loan expires.
Coutinho, 29, played with Villa boss Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.
The Premier League released a statement on Tuesday, which read: "Aston Villa and FC Barcelona have agreed terms for Philippe Coutinho to spend the rest of this season on loan at Villa Park. The agreement also includes an option-to-buy."
Gerrard revealed on Tuesday that Coutinho could make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.
