Ivory Coast sailed through into the knockout stages of the African Cup of Nations with a 3-1 win over Algeria.

The defending champions are now out of the competition, with Algeria managing a miserable point from their three group games this time around.

Algeria had to win this game to stay alive, but were two goals down at half-time through strikes from Franck Kessie and Ibrahim Sangare.

Nicholas Pepe of Arsenal added a third, before Algeria scored a consolation through Sofiane Bendebka.

Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez missed a penalty for the Algerians.
