Former Newcastle fullback Jose Enrique has warned against a move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
It is believed that Lingard is keen to join the Magpies until the end of the season but the ball is now left firmly in the court of the relegation battlers.
But speaking to Boyle Sports, ex-Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique said: "Jesse Lingard is a very good player when he's on form.
"Obviously Eddie knows better, but long term I don't know if he's the right player.
"Off the field, he's not my kind of player if I was a manager.
"But if he can help them now he would definitely be a good signing."
