Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s new daily Covid-19 cases on Thursday dropped to 245 from 280 on Wednesday.

According to Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 43 cases, followed by Tuaran (33), Kota Belud (17) and Penampang (16).

Another seven districts recorded double-digit cases, 16 districts single-digit cases and two districts no new cases.

There was an increase in cases in 13 districts.

Three districts - Kota Belud (24 cases), Keningau (12 cases) and Putatan (10 cases) - were among the 12 districts that saw a drop.

Except for three people in Category Three, Masidi said the others were all in Categories One or Two.

“Today, 242 cases out of 245 are in Categories One and Two. In Category Three, there are three cases, whereas in Categories Four and Five, there are none,” he said.

He added that no new clusters were reported in Sabah on Thursday, but two Covid-19 deaths were reported, in Kudat and Beaufort.

A total of 198 Covid-19 patients have been discharged, with 408 still in hospitals, 332 in low-risk quarantine centres and two in private facilities.
