Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's daily Covid-19 case count continued to rise to 264 today as predicted, said spokesman for the crisis Datuk Masidi Manjun.

Today's number was 33 more cases than yesterday, he announced on Twitter.

The capital city topped with 56 cases followed by Tuaran's 42, Ranau (32) and Penampang (31).

A total of 257 cases today were in Categories 1 and 2, which were mild infections, and the rest of the cases in the three more serious categories of infections.

Masidi yesterday warned on Twitter that people should expect daily case counts to increase with all the year-end festivities.

As happened in the past, daily cases did rise after festivities despite reminders to the public to adhere to anti-virus protocols.
