
TAWAU: A 24-year-old rushed himself to a hospital after his ring got stuck in his left thumb, here, on Thursday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Madzlan Sarman said they received a call from the Tawau Hospital Emergency Department at 8.11pm to help the victim.
Seven personnel, including officers, rushed to the location upon receiving the call. The team managed to cut open the ring using a mini grinder and ended the operation at 9.09pm.

Meanwhile, in LAHAD DATU, firefighters were called to rescue a four-year-old whose finger got stuck in a flat washer.
A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department received a distress call at 7.38pm on Thursday through the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station. He said a team of firefighters responded to the call and went to the emergency department of the Lahad Datu Hospital.
“The team immediately used a mini grinder to cut the flat washer and free the boy’s finger,” said the spokesman.
