Chelsea are scrambling to strike a late market deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

AS says Chelsea are pushing to conclude Kounde's deal before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.

The Blues plan to sign Kounde, then loan him back to Sevilla for the remainder of the season. Chelsea are concerned about Kounde's profile and price exploding by the next summer transfer window.

Kounde's buyout clause is set at €80m and Chelsea aim to close terms for €55-60m.

The France international has a contract to 2024 with Sevilla.
