Matin, a father of three, bowed his head and was seen shedding tears as he cast a glance at his sister-in-law who was the only member of his family present at the proceeding.
It was revealed during the trial that Matin was busy packing drugs in the house and was unaware of the presence of the police team and tried to run away.
The trial which commenced in October 2021 saw three prosecution witnesses testify.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ali Imran prosecuted while Matin was represented by counsel Muhd Abdul Karim.
