Liverpool have been eliminated from the FA Youth Cup following an action-packed 4-3 defeat by Chelsea.
The young Reds took a 3-0 lead in the fifth-round tie at the Academy thanks to finishes from Luke Chambers, Kaide Gordon and Oakley Cannonier.
But they were pegged back as the visitors staged a comeback late in the second half, with substitute Tudor Mendel Idowu completing the turnaround when he netted in the 94th minute to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.
Liverpool coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson opted for a strong side for the visit of one of the country's finest academies as Kaide Gordon - fresh from his recent outings with Jurgen Klopp's senior team – made up part of a talented forward line for the Reds, as he lined up alongside Melkamu Frauendorf, Bobby Clarke, and 23-goal hotshot Oakley Cannonier.
