Watford have had Pape Gueye's Africa Cup of Nations campaign come to a standstill.
The Olympique Marseille Senegal midfielder was suspended by FIFA just minutes before yesterday's match against Guinea.
It was announced by Senegal coach Aliou Cissé in the aftermath. This sanction was made following Watford's complaint relating to his transfer within France in the summer 2020.
Gueye, 22, "had external problems. There were problems between Watford and Marseille and FIFA suspended him, they warned us five minutes before the game started," explained Cissé.
Watford have long been unhappy with Gueye after an agreed move from Le Havre fell through ahead of him joining OM.
