Watford striker Joao Pedro was pleased to score in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

The forward's 88th-minute header clinched a point in the 1-1 draw at St James' Park, the first of three vital fixtures as Burnley and Norwich await on Tuesday and Friday respectively.

“It's a very important goal which has granted us one point today, but we are already focusing on the next game," he said.

“[It felt like] a goal was in the air and in the end it came, so we are quite happy and it shows us that in the Premier League you can never give up.

“Today we have been able to score but we have to carry on now. We are going to be a bit more confident, we know how tough the next games are but we are ready."
