Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot admits he's enjoying his football under caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick.

Dalot had made 35 appearances in three seasons at United before 2021/22, but has been granted several opportunities to shine since the German arrived at Old Trafford.

“It's been a joy to have the opportunity to play more, to help the team more and give my football to the team, which is why I'm here," said Dalot.

“Every time you change managers, it's a new opportunity and a new experience. He's a very experienced coach with a lot of years in football. His philosophy is very good in terms of the way that he communicates with everyone and the way he expresses his thoughts to us.

“It's been fantastic to get to know him and, hopefully, we can build the relationship between the players and the manager even more and bring that to the pitch so we can win more games and perform a lot better."

Dalot added: “I think the manager wants to get the best out of each player and, for me, it's about bringing my best qualities into every game.

“Drive forward, have the ball and try to serve the forward players, and, of course, defend well. Keep solid at the back and be physical and be aggressive – that's my job as a full-back."
