Real Madrid are being linked with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
Kessie will be out of contract in June and Milan have so far failed to convince him to extend his spell at the San Siro, meaning that he is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez sent representatives to Milan to discuss a pre-contract agreement with the 25-year-old.
Kessie, who was named in the Ivory Coast squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, earns approximately £1.8million-a-year and has also been linked with Barcelona, who are reportedly monitoring the situation.
Real Madrid recognise the need to add to their midfield given the veteran status of several senior players.
