Arsenal talks for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo are well on track.

Arsenal have offered to take the midfielder on loan for six months, but the Italians are pushing for an 18-month deal with an obligation to buy - something the Gunners are against committing to.

The Brazilian is keen on a move to Arsenal after his agent Federico Pastorello had a productive meeting with sporting director Edu in London.

Arthur also liked what he heard from talks with Mikel Arteta and would be open to a longer stay, but a permanent deal seems to be out of the equation.

Juve coach Max Allegri ideally would like a replacement for Arthur but it's not the be-all and end-all if the clubs can come to an agreement financially.
