KUALA LUMPUR – RHB Banking Group’s managing director and group CEO Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli has tendered his resignation, effective March 25.
In a brief statement, the bank said in the interim, Mohd Rashid Mohamad, who is the managing director, group wholesale banking, has been appointed as the officer-in-charge and principal officer of the group.
“The board and management of RHB Banking Group wish to put on record their sincere appreciation to Dato’ Khairussaleh for his invaluable contributions during his tenure with the group and wish him success in his future endeavours.”
The Star recently reported that Khairussaleh was on a leave of absence from January 24 onwards.
This was apparently due to a Bloomberg report saying that Maybank is set to appoint him to replace group president and CEO Datuk Seri Abdul Farid Alias.
Farid had said he would step down once his contract was over.
Prior to RHB, Khairussaleh was president-director of PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk, a unit of Maybank. – The Vibes, January 26, 2022
