Recently, the Prime Minister department cleared up the air regarding some fake news over Feb 3. being a public holiday.
However, the Ministry of Human Resources has uploaded a statement on social media to explain the public holidays.
As we are aware, the CNY holiday falls on Feb 1. that overlaps with Federal Territory Day.
Employers of the private sector under the Federal Territories (KL, Putrajaya & Labuan) are urged to give one extra day as a paid public holiday on Feb 3. This is according to the 265 Act. The public sector is not included in the act.
So, if you're based in the Federal Territories and is working under the private sector, congratulations! Go on and enjoy your long holiday.
