KUALA LUMPUR – Social media services run by Meta Platforms Inc suffered outages across the world today.
Users of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were not able to access their services at around 2.30pm today.
According to website Services Down, 1,448 service disruption reports were made with regards to WhatsApp in the last 20 minutes.
However, as of press time, it appears that services on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram have resumed.
Given the sudden outage, netizens took to Twitter to vent their frustration.
“It’s 2022, is WhatsApp down or is no one texting me?” @hafizkenny tweeted.

“I thought the internet was slow because WhatsApp was always connecting, apparently everyone has the same problem,” @mnharzk tweeted.
