ASF doesn’t pose health risk to humans

Kota Kinabalu: African swine fever (ASF) does not pose a health risk to humans and cannot be transmitted from pigs to humans, said Deputy Chief Minister cum Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

“This virus is not harmful to humans but the Government is paying attention to this since it has the potential to cripple our pork industry if no action is taken to curb the spread,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
