Lewis Baker has joined Stoke City in a permanent transfer from Chelsea.

The 26-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year Potters contract after ending his 16-year association with the West London club.

Baker, who has been capped by England at every level from Under-17 through to Under-21, has accrued valuable first-team experience with a host of English clubs, as well as in the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey with Vitesse Arnhem, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Trabzonspor respectively.

He becomes City's third signing of the January transfer window, following Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Phil Jagielka in checking-in at the bet365 Stadium.

Manager Michael O'Neill said: “From speaking to Lewis it's clear that he is ready to lay down roots at a club and kick-on with his career.

“He's a very talented midfielder who will bring a different dimension to our squad and we are delighted to have him on board with us."
