Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has praised the influence of Scott McTominay after his side's 3-1 win over Brentford.
McTominay stole the show for United in central midfield, making tackles and driving the team forward from his role as a defensive midfielder.
Afterward, Rangnick was quick to lavish praise on the Scottish star, indicating that he was emerging as a leader within the team.
"In the first half we were second best in all aspects of the game. In the second half Scott was exemplary, a real leader, he played with authority when we needed it most," he said, per the Manchester Evening News.
"That had a positively contagious effect on all the players in the centre of the pitch, by winning those duels in the second half we had our counter-attacking moments and we knew we could play with speed and tempo at their goal, make their back three drop back and play in one-v-one sprinting duels."
