Barcelona great Andoni Zubizarreta admits the club's financial problems have surprised him.
Zubi worked for former president Josep Maria Bartomeu as sporting director before eventually leaving.
He said, "It seems clear that the numbers are not good, since LaLiga reviews them.
"Being there, I did not have the perception that the numbers were going so badly. I do think we were running on our steps... and we were going faster and faster. That if we didn't get into the Champions League, that could mean selling players. But I see that as normal.
"I never had the perception of being in a chaotic economic crisis. In fact, the Bartomeu's structure continued and then he won the Champions League and LaLigas."
