SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — State citizens who have yet to receive their booster dose are invited to participate in two Selangor Vaccine (Selvax) Booster programmes this coming Friday and Sunday.
State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the programmes will run from 9am to 5pm at Kompleks Muhibbah Tanjung Sepat on January 14, and Dewan Kompleks Sukan Pandamaran on January 16.
“The booster vaccine will only be administered to individuals aged 18 and above, and to those who have completed the previous two Sinovac doses at least three months before.
“It is open to those who did not get an appointment on their MySejahtera app, and is limited to 1,000 doses at each location,” she said in a Facebook post.
Dr Siti Mariah also reminded participants to bring along their MyKad or passport to the vaccination centre (PPV).
On June 30 last year, Selangor implemented the Selvax Community programme, targeting senior citizens and low-income groups, while Selvax Industry focuses on the labour force, including foreign workers.
Subsequently on September 12, Selvax Mobile was implemented using buses and vans, to ensure no state residents were left out of the vaccination process.
On October 7, the state government announced the Selvax Adolescents programme, involving 150,000 doses.
Later on December 7, the state government announced 157,000 booster doses will be administered for free via the Selvax Booster programme.
