Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta defended his passionate antics on the touchline during their 0-0 draw against Burnley.

The Gunners were unable to take advantage of Tottenham's Sunday loss to Chelsea, as they dropped two points themselves.

During the game, Arteta was seen animatedly gesticulating with the fourth official regarding some of the refereeing decisions.

Asked about the matter post-game, he said: "It was about showing a bit of passion.

"Obviously we are animated and live in the game, they are part of the industry so I expect someone when we speak to them to show some emotion because they are part of this.

"We are not selling newspapers here, we are just being part of the game and when you talk to him that has to flow and that energy has to exist there because we are playing to win football matches."
