Newcastle boss Eddie Howe insists there'll be no panic buying this month.

Kieran Trippier has become the club's first signing since the change of ownership.

Howe said, "You can't get emotionally involved with it or upset with players you are linked with.

"The first thing I think is 'how do my players feel?'. They are giving their all and I wouldn't want them feeling negatively to that situation.

"In end with the volume of players we've been linked with I'm sure they come round to that way of thinking and laugh. I wouldn't get any sleep with that many links.

"We're looking in all positions. That's our role, just for benefit of the club, if there is a player that can strengthen of us. A lot of work is going on, it takes a long time, from the scouting department and from me and coaches to try and make decisions."
