Liverpool have reportedly rejected an offer for Nat Phillips.

The Liverpool Echo says Newcastle United submitted a bid for the English defender.

Toon wanted to sign the 24-year-old on loan with obligation to buy.

However, the obligation would only kick in if Newcastle avoid relegation.

This doesn't suit Liverpool, who want a straight out sale for Phillips.

The Reds are demanding at least £12m to sell.
