Milot Rashica's strike with 10 minutes remaining edged Premier League Norwich past League One Charlton and into the FA Cup fourth round.
Rashica tapped home Teemu Pukki's cross from close range to settle a tie that was high on effort but low on quality.
Charlton had enjoyed the better opportunities at that point, with Elliott Lee going close in each half.
