Will Malaysia undergo a second booster shot? Following the spike of new cases related to the Omicron variant, the Health Ministry is weighing on the need as studies are still underway.
In a press statement by Khairy Jamaluddin today (Jan. 7) , he stressed that the vaccine has proven to be effective against curbing Covid-19. However, it's still undetermined whether a person's immunity level will decline post-booster.
Khairy noted that some vaccines have displayed a slight decline in their resilience against the virus after a period of six months. Hence, the need of a third shot (booster) to restore that immunity level.
As for now, Khairy implored that the thought of a second booster is still up in the air due to the resilience reasoning.
