Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel believes that the club's new CEO Richard Arnold shares a lot in common with legendary former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
United have announced that Arnold is taking over as their CEO next month, with Ed Woodward stepping down as executive vice-chairman.
Arnold will oversee the entire club structure, but may leave the footballing side to the likes of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher.
"If you walk around Old Trafford with Richard, you will find out first of all how respected he is but also that he knows people," Schmeichel told MUTV.
"He knows everyone, he talks to everyone. He is interested in the people who work for Manchester United, and I think that is important.
"It's something I experienced with Sir Alex. I think it was one of the key factors in Sir Alex's success.
"He knew who he was dealing with, and he could understand very, very quickly why a person wasn't doing what they were supposed to do.
"That's something I've experienced with Richard as well.
"He knows everybody and I think he will be someone who his staff will look at as a safe leader, someone they can respect and someone they can follow, and I think that's important."
