PITAS: A 12-year-old boy is feared drowned after he went missing during a picnic in Sungai Bengkoka, Jalan Hapseng, Kg Mangkabusu, near here, on Sunday.
Kota Marudu Fire Station Chief Rony Sikawan said his department received an emergency call on the incident at 2.04pm via MERS999.
He said the victim was identified as 12-year-old Rikson Josh.
“I and eight firemen along with a utility vehicle, a boat and a van rushed to the scene located about 60km from the station.
“The search and rescue operation (SAR) began at 7am and the Kota Marudu Fire Station’s Water Rescue Team (PPDA) made a dive to find the victim but found no sign the boy, as of 12.20pm,” he said.
