Southampton came from behind to secure a 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in north London on Sunday.

In what can be considered a Premier League classic, Saints deservedly took home all three points despite going down 2-1 with 20 minutes remaining.

Ralph Hasenhuttl would have been confused at the half-time when his side entered the tunnel with the game tied at 1-1 after Armando Broja cancelled out Jan Bednarek's own goal.

The visitors dominated Tottenham in the first-half and the home supporters let their side know with loud boos for their players.

There wasn't a significant lift from Spurs after the break and Southampton still looked dangerous.

However it was Antonio Conte's side who took the lead, albeit in controversial circumstances.

Emerson Royal clearly fouled Broja near the half-way line but the referee didn't blow his whistle, allowing Spurs to pounce with an excellent counter-attack that culminated with Son's finish inside the box.

Southampton weren't deterred though, perhaps buoyed by the knowledge they were the better team on the night.

The equaliser came after 79 minutes when Mohamed Elyounoussi was given a space to put a free header past Hugo Lloris following a superb cross from James Ward-Prowse.

In almost identical fashion three minutes later, Ward-Prowse found Che Adams at the back post and the Scotland international steered a brilliant header into the top corner, helped by some insipid defending from Emerson Royal.

Both goals were poorly defended and highlighted how much work Conte needs to do before Spurs can move up the table.
