Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is excited by Che Adams' increasing maturity.

The Scotland striker, who initially struggled at Saints after joining in 2020, got his sixth Premier League goal of the season in Saturday's win over Everton.

"You get more knowledge about what you should do (as you mature), and if you bring him into the right spots at the right moments he is definitely there to score," Hasenhuttl said.

"We are working very hard on the positioning of the strikers, where they should be, where we want to bring them, and the more disciplined they are the better it is for us and for them also.

"They see now that it is not about running round everywhere and showing how much you invest in a game."

He continued: "I guess without the ball you have to, but with the ball it is all about waiting for the right moment, for the ball to come to you, because we know that you are in this position.

"This is what he had to learn and Broja had to learn. Find the right position for him, the right shape where he is good in. But he is getting better definitely."
