Now that the dust has cleared, we can pick up the pieces and gather our thoughts on the recently completed Season 2 of Kimetsu no Yaiba – Yuukaku-hen (Entertainment District Arc).
No one is a stranger to Kimetsu no Yaiba, and if you’ve read a few of my write-ups, you’ve certainly been made aware of its premise and popularity.
Season 2 ended in the same spectacular fashion as how the show started and progressed. The show has far eclipsed itself in its season 1 and movie iterations, as when season 2 reached its climax, we are shown just how much better its animation can look like, to properly reflect how much the stakes have risen for the main characters now that the story has gone as deep as 2 seasons.

Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 ended with an extended 45-minute finale and with it came an announcement for a season 3, the Swordsmith Village Arc. This arc will focus on two new Pillars Mitsuri Kanroji the Love Pillar and Muichiro Tokito the Mist Pillar. Coming from a Manga reader, I am particularly excited about this arc as it’s personally my second favourite arc after this recently concluded arc.
What excites me most is not the introduction of the new Pillars and new threats, but more Tanjiro and Nezuko action as they take centre stage for the upcoming season over the usual posse of Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu. This arc will see more focus on the siblings as they embark on a journey into the mysterious swordsmith village. Without the company of their trusted comrades, they would need to not only find new allies in the Pillars Kanroji and Muichiro but unlikely ones as well, which will remain unsaid for now. This arc will without a doubt see fantastic action and animation, but more than that, it will present a turning point in the story, which will change the course of the plot permanently. 2023 and Season 3 simply cannot come sooner.
