RB Leipzig's technical director Christopher Vivell has stated that midfielder Amadou Haidara did not ask to leave the club in January.
With the transfer window closed, Haidara's rumored move to Manchester United never got going.
Despite United's interim coach Ralf Rangnick being an admirer of Haidara, it appears there was no serious interest in the player, or a desire on his part to leave Leipzig.
Vivell recently said: "It's special with the boys who are at the Africa Cup.
"Amadou Haidara has been with us for a long time, an important player. I also don't think he necessarily wanted that, to just move somewhere else."
United will reportedly target a midfielder when the transfer window re-opens in the summer, with Haidara considred a target.
