Tottenham winger Bryan Gil was delighted to make a winning debut with Valencia in their Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Cadiz.

Gil went straight into the starting lineup for Valencia and played a full 90.

He later said: "There's nothing better than debuting with a victory. It was a very hard-fought win. I think that we were very united and knew what to do when Cadiz equalised. I think that it was a very serious game, and it will be useful for the team to take a step forward.

"I want to thank the fans for how they've welcomed me from day one. I have felt loved from the start, and I thank them a lot.

"It's the coach who decides who plays. I wish that I played every game, but it's down to the coach and I will do everything possible to play in every game."

Gil added: "I'm going to keep this shirt. I've been asked for it, but I said I'm sorry, I am keeping this one."
