Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri admits he's unhappy facing AC Milan tonight in the Coppa Italia quarterfinal.
Sarri says he's no fan of the tournament's format.
“Milan won a derby that boosted their motivation, but we also won an important game," Sarri told Lazio Style TV.
“Coppa Italia is one of the most unsporting tournaments in the world, it's been clearly shaped to let certain teams reach the final stages and get tv revenues. Nobody knows when the draw takes place and who is in charge of it. We know it's like this and we'll play the game to the best of our chances.
“We should not be affected by the league match we badly lost [in September]. We must have motivation. We are in the nowhere land, so the Coppa Italia is an important target for us, while it could be a secondary objective for Milan given that they are in the race for the Scudetto."
