KUCHING - A man died after his bedroom floor collapsed burying him under it in an incident at Lorong 6, Star Garden, near here yesterday afternoon.

The Sarawak Fire Operations Center said in a statement that the fire brigade received a call at 2.56pm.
A total of 12 members from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK) II Jemiran Kemis were rushed to the location.
"As soon as we arrived at the scene, we found that the bedroom floor located on the first floor had collapsed and there was a 58-year-old man under the rubble," he said.

According to him, the incident is believed to have happened a few days ago and was only noticed by the victim's brother today after the victim failed to be contacted.
"The fire brigade dismantled the pile of equipment in the rubble and managed to find the victim who is believed to have died a few days ago.

"The victim's body was handed over to the police for further investigation and the operation ended at 4.28pm," he said.
