Sven Mislintat's Arsenal background helped clinch VfB Stuttgart's signing of Sporting CP attacker Tiago Tomas.
Tomas signed for VfB on Sunday, wth the deal driven by sporting director Mislintat.
Foot Mercato says Mislintat began folllowing Tomas when chief scout at Arsenal and maintained his interest after leaving the Londoners two years ago.
Arsenal took a close look at Tomas at the time, though interest cooled as the midfielder's form waned.
VfB has signed Tomas on-loan for 18 months with a view to a permanent deal in 2023.
