Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was wrong to hook Raphinha at halftime of their defeat at Everton.

Following a disastrous first half where the Whites were blown away by their opponents, Raphinha was one of two players hauled off at half time.

The Brazilian was replaced by Tyler Roberts, who once again struggled to make an impact on proceedings.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Murphy believes that Raphinha was causing Jonjoe Kenny some problems and is struggling to get his head around the decision.

He said: "It was a mistake. He was playing alright, he was showing, he was causing [Jonjoe] Kenny a good few problems. Okay, he hadn't scored or set up a goal but you're 2-0 down in a game, you need your best player.

"Maybe he was setting an example for something he saw, an incident, but I didn't see enough in that first-half performance to warrant him being brought off. It was a really strange decision."
