Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa says he won't consider changing his style of play - despite their relegation battle.
Bielsa has come under fire following Wednesday night's 6-0 humiliation at Liverpool, a third straight defeat which leaves them just three points above the relegation zone.
"The players are like every human being, they give their all for those who are conducting them with the promise that we will win," explained Bielsa.
"When we don't manage to accomplish that promise, it would be naive to think the confidence in the leader is intact.
"The question that's missing, if the players are losing faith in what a coach is proposing, in no way have I verified this because I measure it by the effort they put in.
"But it would be naive to think in a moment of weakness like we're in, the faith, confidence and credibility is the same.
"The credibility in what I do is lower and weakened by everything. The only one who believes blindly in myself is me. I'm alone and I believe in what I'm capable of doing."
A bullish Bielsa gave a 12-minute answer to explain why he will not change the way his team plays.
"When you go through moments like this, when the confidence is lost in the leader, how can I defend myself when the team has conceded the most goals in the Premier League?" he asked.
"When you are the conductor in a bad situation, nobody trusts in what you are saying.
"But what I am sure of is, if I stop doing what I believe in, the situation will get even worse. The question is not of changing how we proceed, but to make our procedures work.
"My function is to convince. I cannot convince by trying to do procedures I don't believe in. I will try to do what we do but better, not abandoning procedures that have come out with practise. It's the only way I know.
"There are two paths: abandon everything you do, change the profile of the team, or try to correct what is done badly and obtain from this group what they are capable of doing."
